Athletics

Our Athletic Program has been designed for kids of all ages and abilities to participate and succeed in a team setting. Our athletic programs are run under an "Athlete First, Winning Second" philosophy which encourages fun, sportsmanship, teamwork, as well as overall skill development. We highly stress that our games, practices, as well as other functions related to our program maintain a positive atmosphere in order for the kids to enjoy their experience.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ATHLETIC PROGRAMS AT THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF THE LEWIS CLARK VALLEY IS TO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH RECREATIONAL SPORTS FOR ENJOYMENT. PRIORITY IS GIVEN TOWARD DEVELOPING FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS TO IMPROVE COMPETENCY IN ATHLETICS. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE SAFE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO MAINTAIN THEIR PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.

OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAMS PROVIDE A PROGRAM THAT ENABLES BOYS & GIRLS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR PARTICIPATION. WE ENCOURAGE THE PHILOSOPHY OF ALLOWING ALL CHILDREN THEIR FULL RIGHT TO PLAY. WE PROVIDE YOUTH AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ATHLETICS IN A FUN AND SUPPORTIVE SETTING TO PROMOTE PHYSICAL FITNESS AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP.

No Tolerance Policy

 Coaches, Spectators & Players

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley are proud of everyone involved in our athletic programs. In an effort to encourage and create a positive, safe & enjoyable environment we present the NO TOLERANCE POLICY for all athletic events. We want everyone involved to enjoy athletics in a mature and responsible manner.

We encourage and expect all coaches, spectators and players to:

·Know and follow the rules and the intent of the rules

·Respect players, fans, referees and the referees decision

·Place safety, enjoyment and education of others above all else, including winning

·Remember that children play for FUN

·Never engage in unsportsmanlike behavior

·Never use abusive or foul language

·Encourage in a manner that inspires without belittling others

·Encourage players to respect opponents, coaches and referees

·Avoid criticizing players for mistakes, mistakes are part of learning

·Be supportive of the teams& represent yourself in a positive manner

Inappropriate behavior may result in expulsion from the current game and/or future games. If needed, a meeting with the Athletic Director will be set up to discuss further action. Decisions made will be fair and in the best interest of the athletic program and its members.

*Participation in ALL Club Programs including Athletics requires a current Club Membership. A school year membership is only $25 and runs September 3rd through June 3rd. You must first fill out a Membership Form before turning in the Athletic Registration Form. The Athletic Program fee is $40.
